About Me

I believe that anyone who desires change in their life, is open to a process of self-exploration, and willing to face feelings and fears to achieve deeper understanding, has unlimited ability for transformation and growth. With the right guidance and support each person, and every family, has the ability to experience true joy in their lives.

Early on I knew that working with children, adolescents and their families was what I wanted to do. With over 30 years of experience and extensive training, I can help children and their families find solutions, resolve conflicts, improve communication and learn new skills to better manage their lives. I also work with adults whose relationships, careers and health are being negatively impacted by unresolved childhood conflict and trauma.

I am both a Licensed Psychologist, specializing in children, adolescents and their families and a Child Life Specialist. Child Life Specialists are pediatric health care professionals who work with children and families in hospitals and other settings to help them cope with the challenges of hospitalization, illness, and disability. I worked for many years with hospitalized and chronically ill children and teenagers at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.

I am able to work with both the psychological and medical issues that families face. By using a culturally sensitive, strength-based approach in a safe and comfortable healing environment, problems may be overcome and real change can happen. My work with children and adolescents often takes me into the schools and homes of families, to more comprehensively understand the underlying issues.
